Michael LaMana is the founder of LaMana Consulting Foresters – a professional consulting firm providing expertise in most facets of landscape management, arboriculture, urban and municipal forestry, and traditional woodlands management & silviculture.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management (Forestry) from Rutgers University, as well as a Master of Science degree in Entomology from Oregon State University. With more than 30 years of relevant experience in arboriculture, landscape management and forestry, Mr. LaMana is a recognized leader in his fields of practice.
Mr. LaMana has served as a Director of the American Society of Consulting Arborists (ASCA), and Chair of the NJ Division of the Society of American Foresters (SAF). He is a NJ Licensed Tree Expert (LTE); a Board-Certified Master Arborist (BCMA) – with a Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) – with the International Society of Arborists (ISA). Mike also is a Registered Consulting Arborist (RCA) with ASCA, a Certified Forester with the SAF, and an Approved Consultant Forester credentialed by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) to handle matters related to New Jersey Farmland Tax Assessment.
Merging his 30 years of national and local professional experience with this background and credentialing, Mike’s particular areas expertise and enjoyment are: Tree assessment; street-tree inventory & planning; municipal forestry; site-planning conflict resolution; urban reforestation projects; tree & landscape plant appraisal; tree failure investigation and reconstructions; forest harvest operations; woodland management planning; land-use regulation matters; agricultural use-taxation cases; forensic investigation and consulting forensic expert / expert witness assignments.
Michael LaMana has been accepted by numerous Courts of Law and Land Use Boards as a testifying expert regarding arboriculture, landscape management, and forestry in several states including New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
